One of the highlights is Birgit Kinder’s legendary 1990 painting “Test the Rest”, showing a Trabant car breaking through the Wall. Few images symbolize change, freedom, and hope for a new beginning as powerfully! In 2009, Birgit Kinder reworked her original “Test the Best” into “Test the Rest”—a critique of how Berlin has treated the East Side Gallery.
This iconic artwork featuring the cult East German car has now been immortalized on a silver minting—for a very special reason: In 2025, Germany will celebrate the 35th anniversary of reunification! Birgit Kinder’s “Trabi” is captured for eternity across three bars, each made from one ounce of pure silver. The high-quality color application brings every detail vividly to life. The roof of the Trabant is finished with pure gold. And the crowning highlight: the intricate minting technique! Thanks to the seamless “Edgeless Minting” process, the three bars flow perfectly into one another.
This elaborate production process results in a small, strictly limited anniversary edition: only 989 sets worldwide, in tribute to the year the Berlin Wall fell.
