World Coin AppreciationThis 5 g silver coin is the second in the series dedicated to playing cards. The silver coins feature the “J.” It is an oil painting on canvas by French academic painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau, dating back to 1850. It is located at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. The painting depicts a scene from Dante's Divine Comedy, which recounts Dante's journey through Hell with his guide Virgil. In the scene, the author and his guide observe two damned souls locked in eternal combat. One of the souls is an alchemist and heretic named Capocchio. He is bitten on the neck by the swindler Gianni Schicchi, who had used fraud to claim another man's inheritance. Note: the four silver coins represent the Jack of Diamonds, the Jack of Hearts, the Jack of Clubs, and the Jack of Spades. The coin depicts the image of Ares, the god of war. Four cards are dealt randomly. In the center of the coin is the Truth Guard coat of arms and the inscriptions: “Truth Guard” - the issuer, “1 Guard” - the face value, “2024” - the year of issue, ‘5g’ - the weight of the coin, and “Ag 999” - the purity of the silver.
