Kroatian Mint2024 Trsat Dragon 6 Euro 2 oz Silver BU is a two-ounce coin issued by the Croatian National Bank in collaboration with the Croatian Mint and Germania Mint.
Basilisks, known in the folklore of Rijeka as “Trsat Dragons,” are mythical creatures combining features of a serpent, dragon, and rooster. Revered as guardians of the Trsat fortress overlooking Rijeka, they were also a part of the noble Nugent family coat of arms. The creation of their sculptures was entrusted to the renowned Viennese artist Anton Dominik Fernkorn, whose works left a lasting impact on Croatian sculpture in the 19th century.
Inspired by the “Trsat Dragons,” this coin carries deep historical and cultural significance. The image of the dragon appears on both the obverse and reverse of the coin, ennobled with gold gilding and an Antique Finish effect.
The artistic design of this numismatic piece was created by Natalia Danysz. The coin, made of the highest purity silver (999.9/1000) in brilliant uncirculated quality, has been issued in a limited quantity of 1,000 pieces. Each is available in an elegant acrylic display case, packed in a Qureco box, along with a Certificate of Authenticity and Declaration Book.
